An easy to make chicken dish with puff pastry! Add in ham and cheddar cheese for a melting centre.
This recipe won’t take much longer than 30 minutes with the below ingredients making for the two servings.
Ingredients
To make 2 servings
- Puff pastry sheetReady made
- 2 Chicken breasts
- Slices of Ham
- Handfuls of Grated cheddar cheeseOr other cheese to taste
- Egg or milkFor coating
How to make chicken en croute with ham and Cheddar cheese
- Slice a pouch into the side of the chicken breast and stuff with the grated cheese. You could use other types of cheese to your taste.
- Season the chicken well – but go easy with the salt as the ham is already quite salty.
- Wrap the chicken in the ham.
- Cut the puff pastry sheet in two.
- Optionally put a pile of grated cheese in the middle of each puff pastry sheet before placing the ham wrapped chicken breasts in the centre.
- Wrap up the chicken in the puff pastry
- Beat an egg or get some milk and brush it over the top of the pastry
- Bake at 200 degrees (180 degrees for fan ovens) for 25-30 minutes until pastry is golden and chicken is fully cooked through.
- Enjoy with a side of greens.
