Super Simple Sausage Pasta Recipe

This simple sausage pasta makes for a perfect dinner.
Taking just 30 minutes, the recipe and ingredients below will make for two good servings.
You can use whatever sausages you want, including vegetarian ones.
Ingredients
To make 1 serving
- Around 150g Pasta
- Splash of oil
- 4-6 SausagesAny kind, even veggie! Fresh or frozen
- 1 Onion, peeled and choppedFresh or frozen
- Salt and pepperTo taste
- 1/2 tsp SugarHalf a teaspoon
- 2 tsp Chilli powder Or more or less to taste
- Tin of sweetcornOr from frozen. Could swap for peas
- 400g carton of tomato passataCould swap for tinned tomatoes
How to make delicious sausage pasta:
- Boil the pasta in boiling water according to the pack instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large frying pan, cook the sausages in a splash of oil, over medium heat, until browned all over – about 10 minutes. If cooking from frozen allow extra time.
- Remove the sausages and set aside.
- Back in the pan, add the chopped onion and continue cooking until the onion is soft. Again, if cooking from frozen allow more time.
- Add the passata. You can swap the passata for tinned tomatoes, just break down the tomatoes with a fork.
- Season to taste with salt, pepper, sugar, chilli powder and peas and gently cook for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, carefully cut up the sausages into bite-sized pieces.
- Add the sausages and sweetcorn to the sauce. You can swap the sweetcorn for peas (or leave out altogether if you prefer). Cook for a final five minutes.
- In a bowl, top the pasta with the sauce to serve.
