Fairy cakes recipe: Guide to simple cup cakes!

A baking staple, here’s our guide to making your own tasty fairy cakes with a few easy to find ingredients you probably already have.
Ingredients
To make 18 servings
- Butter 125 g
- Self-raising flour 2 cups
- Vanilla extract 1 tsp
- Eggs 2 Two
- Milk 100 ml
How to make Fairy cakes:
- Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla or lemon extract until creamy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Fold in the sifted flour alternately with the milk.
- Three-quarters fill 18 well-greased paper patty cases or well-greased muffin tins.
- Bake at 180°C for 12-15 minutes until well risen and golden. Cool on a cake rack.
- Dust with icing sugar before serving.
