Here’s a fun twist on fried eggs on toast to fry for breakfast.

This easy eat makes a quick and tasty eat which will be ready in less than 10 minutes.

Ingredients

To make 1 serving

  • Bread
  • Egg
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • Salt & pepper to taste

How to make egg in the hole:

  1. Melt a teaspoon of butter over a medium heat in a frying pan
  2. Cut out a hole in the centre of a slice of bread with a biscuit cutter or use the rim of a glass. Don’t discard the cut out bread!
  3. Put the holed bread in the pan cook for a couple of minutes until the underside is golden. Also place the cut out piece in the pan.
  4. Flip both over and crack an egg into the hole. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Continue frying until egg is cooked to your liking. You can flip it over again to cook the egg on top.
  6. Serve, use the centre piece to dip in the yolk!
