Make your own homemade fruity flapjacks with this all too simple student recipe.

This classic flapjack recipe is slimmed down by using honey as opposed to golden syrup and chunky pieces of dried fruit.

Ingredients

To make 1 serving

  • Butter 200 g
  • Sugar 200 g
  • Honey 200 g
  • Porridge Oats 400 g
  • Dried berries, raisins and apricots 75 g

How to make simply fruity flapjacks:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180c.
  2. Heat the butter, sugar and honey in a saucepan stirring gently until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Stir in the oats and roughly chopped dried fruit.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the greased baking tin and evenly spread to ensure a thickness of about 3cm.
  5. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden but still moist.
  6. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
