Chocolate Marshmallow Tart Recipe

This decadent and rich chocolate tart is super easy to make and is shockingly cheap.

Ingredients

To make 1 serving

  • Butter 125 g
  • Dark chocolate 300 g
  • Marshmallows 100 g
  • Dash of salt
  • Digestive biscuits 200 gHalf a standard packet
  • Milk 2 tbsps

How to make chocolate tart dessert recipe:

  1. In a mixing bowl, heat 100g of the butter for 20-30 seconds in a microwave to soften/slightly melt it (or just leave it out for a bit at room temperature)
  2. Meanwhile, place the biscuits in a sandwich bag or similar and smash them up. Use a rolling pin, your fists, anything!

  4. Mix the crumbs into the butter thoroughly to make a sticky mixture.
  5. Using your hands, build up a layer of the biscuit and butter mix about half a centiremete thick at the bottom and around the edge of a grease-poof/baking paper lined baking tin or bowl.
  6. Use your fingers to flatten the mixture around the base and push up against the sides. Don’t worry about the edges looking uneven and sorry for themselves, that can be fixed later!

  9. After around 30 minutes, you can begin to prepare to the filling.
  10. Add the remaining butter, milk, salt, butter and chocolate (broken up) to a bowl, along with the marshmallows

  12. Melt ALL OF IT TOGETHER in the microwave in 30 second bursts, stirring really well in between each blast.
  13. It’ll look a bit disgusting at first but after 90 seconds to 2 minutes you’ll end up with a thick-ish dark brown chocolately mixture.

  15. Remove the case from the fridge and pour in the chocolate and marshmallow mix.

  17. Gently shake and tip the case in the tin to allow the filling to spread to all the edges and flatten out

  19. Place into the fridge and allow to set until firm.

  21. Once set, remove from the tin and carefully remove off the baking paper.
  22. Use a sharp knife to cut off any excess casing on the sides for presentation’s sake, if you care.
  23. Cut up and serve, either alone or with cream or ice cream!
