  • Sweet Potato 1
  • Olive Oil
  • Goats cheese or other cheeseOptional
  • Sweet Chilli SauceOptional

How to make Naked Homemade Burgers with Sweet Potato Wedges:

  1. For the burgers, begin by preheating the oven to 200 degrees celsius (gas mark 6)
  2. Finely chop the onion (really really fine!) and place into a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the mince, egg and mixed herbs into the bowl, and mix together. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Split the mixture into quarters and roll each quarter in your hands to make a large meatball. Make sure the balls are tightly compressed to avoid the burgers falling apart. Place the balls on a plate and press down on each one to create a burger patty. Place in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to set.
  5. After the patties have set place them onto a baking tray covered with kitchen foil (Lightly cover the foil with oil to avoid the burgers sticking) and place in the oven for 5 minutes.
  6. After 5 minutes turn over the patties and continue to cook for a further 5 minutes or until the inside of the burger is no longer pink.
  7. OPTIONAL Add a slice of the cheese of your choice on top of the burgers and place in the oven for a couple of minutes to let it melt.
  8. For the Sweet Potato Wedges, Cut the sweet potato into wedge sized pieces.
  9. Place the wedges into a bowl and add some olive oil. Mix until the wedges are lightly covered. Season with salt and pepper.
  10. Roast the wedges in the oven for approx. 15-20 minutes on a baking tray covered with kitchen foil, until they are lightly browned
  11. OPTIONAL: Serve dish with a side of salad and a drizzle of Sweet Chilli Sauce.
